Laylen Richardson

Workington based Laylen has been going to speedway since he was four years old and riding since he was eight. He is a fan of his local team Workington Comets and his favourite racer is Kenneth Hanson.

Laylen’s speedway career started with a school trip he didn't want to go on! His Dad promised to give Laylen a speedway bike if he went and Gareth kept that promise, getting Laylen a bike and which he learnt to ride at their local Northside track.

With Workington Comets sadly closing in 2018 Laylen had to look further afield for opportunities to race and his father tells me that Redcar speedway have done a lot for Laylen in is early career.

So far he has ridden for both Redcar Bear Cubs and Teeside Tigers in the Northern Junior League, and his favourite track to ride is Redcar.

Laylen’s goals for 2023 are to continue to improve, race in the Northern Junior League and hopefully get a few bookings for the National Development League, then next step up for at rider at his stage in their career.
