Owen Booth

15 year old Sunderland lad Owen Booth started riding motocross bikes at an early age, following in the tyre tracks of his father and uncle.  He progressed to Grass Track Racing in 2018, winning many races held by Pickering DMC and taking the overall championship at the end of the season. This led to the chance to try speedway racing the following year.

Owen was initially lent a 125cc speedway bike, quickly came to love the sport and has not looked back since.

Towards the end of the 2021 season Owen moved up a class to start racing a 500cc bike, which he will be competing in throughout 2022.

2022 Season

Owen started the season racing for Newcastle Sapphires in the Northern Junior League, moving to Berwick Academy when Newcastle closed and also competed in the British Youth Speedway Championship.

He ended the season on a high, with his first ever ride in the National Development League, thanks to a guest booking by Edinburgh based Armadale Devils.
